I have been tossing over changing my design name from Scrapz By Christon to ‘L. E. Designz (Lissa Edwards)’ OR ‘lissa E designz’ to more reflect my real name, I have decided one way or the other yet, if I go ahead with the change means changing a lotta things LOL so I want to be real sure before I do….fancy giving me your opinions?

As soon as I have everything changed over I will be known as LissaE Designz….and my entire store is at 50% off until the change is complete

Ok…so I know I deleted my blog a couple of months back….LOL my main reason then was that I am not really a blogger type person and I felt guilty every time I looked at the weeks that went between postings….but guess what? I kinda missed it LOL and I really missed the more personal aspect of having my own blog as opposed to just a store blog.

Unfortunately my hosting does not have a backup of the database going back 2 months….and I didn’t really expect them to, though I was hoping LOL BUT I did manage to find a backup from August last year….means a lot of posts are gone for good, but that will teach me to make a proper backup if I should ever up and decide to delete in the future LMAO

Many of my kits and the freebies that were available here have been retired permanently but I did haul some back out for your enjoyment, for those that didn’t have a chance to grab them before lol just click on Freebies in the categories….and enjoy!

I shall *try* to be a better blogger…but make no promises LOL

As you can see I have the new blog all up and running, yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy LOL

I even managed to get all my comments over as well as the posts….Wordpress has a function where you can import your posts from an old blog through the RSS feed, so I did that, but was stumped as to how to get the comments over, but I thought there must be a way using the MySQL databases lol

So firstly, I contacted my hosting provider…hmmmm….

“While we’re happy to provide a functional development environment, we cannot assist in migrating specific applications since this is beyond the scope of our support. There are many resources on the net including community forums and documentation on phpMyAdmin or WordPress that may be able to help, and if you have any specific questions as you are going along or error messages you are getting, we are happy to try to point you in the right direction.”

Well you can see how that went rofl and I didn’t have the faintest clue where else to post, so I turned to the Zen Cart forum, they have an awesome support community and the help there has always been right where you needed it.

Not only did the mods allow my completely off topic post to stay, but yes….someone did actually post instructions on how to do it, so I spent all day yesterday editing Excel files to make the data match (different databases so they were structured differently lol)

Managed to import it successfully after a couple of hitches but the dates/times did not import….so I thought I was gonna hafta edit almost 3000 comments individually to correct the dates…..after about 200 and three hours editing I figured there hadda be a way to get the dates to import properly too

So off to trusty old Google….and well it seems you can format how Excel displays the dates too, woot for that LOL

Two changes to get it right, and got it right I did…..and now I have my blog all back to ‘normal’ with a brand spanking new script (WordPress LOL) and I love it, so many new different features hehe and the old, no-longer-updated-no-support blog is gone and deleted
